Portraits of our furry (well mostly) friends....

Our two girls, Alley (below) and Daisy generally were very cooperative with the photo shoots as long as I had a bunch of treats.....  taken at f/2.2 1/20sec IS0-800

all of the following were taken with a Sony Alpha 7 and a Zeiss fixed 55mm/1.8 lens except where otherwise noted...all were existing light.

f/5 at 1/60sec, ISO-500

This is the time of year that the blue bonnets are in bloom in N. Texas.  Daisy doesn't care however, just wants her treats...

f/3.5 at 1/50sec, ISO-400

you've got mail....

folks...,  I actually did a post for the 'framed' exercise - was only about 3 weeks late (but did have a good excuse as we were in Europe on a really cool ski trip...  so if you're really bored, take a look....

and for this one, this was a challenging theme... are there actually interesting mailboxes out there to photograph!!  as always, you'll find things in your immediate existence you've never paid attention to before!  This first shot is of someone in the neighborhood....  now, my first name is 'Rex' - not sure what his is.  My question for him however...,   is this '3409'???

love the 'pic up my mail' flag.....

                                                        is this going somethere????

                                                                 how cool is this??

don't mess with a good thing.....

got framed....

during the last picture 'exercise', we were on a ski trip to Switzerland and did manage to see a bit of Munich and Rothenburg, Germany....  Finding photo opportunities that made it easy to 'frame' were around every corner, (much easier that finding something to shoot in my kitchen....)  Yes, I know I'm late but hell, Lynn said there are no 'rules'!!!
the Swiss Alps....  heading for Samnaun, Switzerland..

the following was taken from a window in the 'Neuschwanstein' castle in Frussen, Germany.

Rothenburg Germany - one of the portals of the outer walls of the 'walled' city.  Just a few weeks before the end of WWII, the US Allies had the city surrounded and was preparing to flatten it as there were a large number of German troops holed up inside the city.  As the story goes, the mother of the US Secretary of War asked her son to spare the city (as she had been there before and knew of it's historical significance. )  The Allies negotiated with the Germans to 'get out of dodge', which they did and the city survived.  Do not miss this city if you're over there - we stayed in a hotel within the walls and it was truly memorable.............
